Frequently Asked Questions

COVID-19

As of 6.24.2021, we are happy to allow clients inside the clinic to accompany their pets for appointments. We ask that you limit yourself to 1-2 people (plus your fur babies). Masks are no longer required.

Of course! For clients who prefer not to enter the building, we are still more than happy to come outside to receive your pet. Call us upon arrival, have your pet ready in a carrier or on a leash, and our technicians will meet you at the back door. After the doctor examines your pet she can speak to you over the phone; the technicians will check out your appointment and meet you again at our back door.

If you are sick or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or COVID-19-like symptoms, please do not enter the building for your safety as well as the safety of our staff and other clients.

Pet Care

Delano Veterinary Clinic provides veterinary care for dogs & cats only.

We do everything we can during business hours to care for your pets. For after hour care, we recommend Blue Pearl Pet Hospital. You can find information for three nearby Blue Pearl Pet Hospitals at the bottom of this page, or you can search the Blue Pearl Pet Hospital website for a location near you.

While we generally try to schedule appointments for the care of your pet, we understand that accidents happen and emergencies arise. We do provide emergency care during business hours. We ask that you kindly call ahead, if possible, to help us better prepare for you. If the emergency is after regular business hours, please refer to the Blue Pearl Pet Hospitals in Golden Valley, Blaine, and Eden Prairie listed at the very bottom of this page.

If it is your first visit with our clinic, fill out the New Client Form online. Also, please bring any previous veterinary records for your pet, if possible.

For your pet’s annual visit and for dental appointments, we do ask that you bring a stool sample with you.

Yes! You can get prescriptions filled directly from us as well as from our online store. When shopping online, you can arrange to ship the prescription directly to your home. If you need a prescription refill, please fill out our Prescription Refill Form

Understanding when it is time to let our pets say goodbye can be the most painful decisions a pet owner is required to make. Talk to us and we can help you navigate this difficult situation. If end-of-life is ultimately what’s in the best interest, we do offer respectful euthanasia with the option to have them cremated individually, to have them communally cremated, or to bring your pet’s remains home.
